About
Hey pal!
I don't know about you, but I often find myself googling a variety of topics and trying to find out how to do certain things or how to better myself. I never quite find the answers I want so I create answers of my own.
I decided to make my advice available for anyone out there seeking unique answers to specific questions. This advice all comes together to form my way of doing life and the tips and tricks I use to make my life the most fun, most creative, most frugal, most adventurous, and most practical life it can possibly be!
Thus began Ask Miss Tess. Feel free to ask me anything! Anything at all. I will do my best to give advice to help you figure out whatever it is that you're seeking guidance with. Seriously. What matters to me is that I'm helping you. That's what this site is all about!
Now, who is this "Miss Tess"?
My name is Tessa Elizabeth Millar Rodeback. Kind of a mouth full, right? You can call me Tess.
I am a pretty average wife and stay-at-home mom with a fear of spiders. If it crawls, has more than 4 legs, and should be living outside, it's not welcome in my house. No way.
I grew up in the good ol' town of Provo, UT. Being the youngest child of 12 (yes, you read that right) wasn't always easy but it sure helped me mature quickly. I was an aunt by the time I was 5 months old, married at 19, and a mother at 20. You could save I've grown up pretty fast.
In my first semester at college, I met my partner in life through Tinder. Not exactly the most traditional way of meeting someone but hey, it worked for us! We met on a Sunday and were talking about getting married just 4 days later. Crazy? Sure. That's me!
38 days after we met, we were engaged. 73 days after that, we were married. In case I've lost you, that's only 111 days between the day we met and the day we got hitched. He was 23, I was 19. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Kyle is from Champlin, MN but was attending Brigham Young University when we met. He's tall, dark, and handsome; just the way I imagined my perfect man.
Kyle has seriously been such a blessing in my life. I need him. He's just what was missing in my life and I'm so glad I found him!
Since then, we've been living in Springville, UT. Just a hop, skip, and jump away from Provo, UT. We've been married for 3 years, we have a toddler named Ellen, and we are pregnant with our first son.
Kyle is working for a local Solar company and I'm living the good life as a wife/mom/blog writer. Our life is far from perfect but it's exactly the way it needs to be.
I love DIY projects, making lists, setting goals, and working hard. We know what it's like to have money in our pocket, nothing in the bank, and everything in between. We've been in hard places and in great places. We've had to learn from mistakes and teach ourselves how to avoid repeating those mistakes.
I'm no expert but if I can offer my two cents, maybe it's just the amount that you need.
